Sweatshirts for STA students: Sacramento Tamil Academy is planning to procure sweatshirts for its students this year. Please submit your child’s sweatshirt size now so your child does not get left out. It is past due and will be closed today!

Tamil New year Celebration (April 13, 2025):

A celebration to commemorate the upcoming Tamil New Year is planned for tomorrow, April 13th @11:15 am.
The celebrations will include potluck, games, award distribution and other activities.
If you have signed up to bring food in for the potluck please be sure to bring the food in no later than 11:am.
If you would like to volunteer to help at the event, do reach out.
There are still a few slots remaining to be taken and please sign up. The sheet will be open until midnight tonight.

Tamil Refresher / Biliteracy Exam Prep Course: STA is conducting refresher classes for students interested in taking the State Seal of Biliteracy Exam in Grade 12. This class is continuing every Sunday at 11:30am in Room #1 after school and open to all high school students. Interested students are welcome to attend the class.

Graduation Day: Teachers are conducting practice sessions. Please make sure your child attends the practice sessions without fail. This is a great opportunity for the students to showcase their talents. Request all parents to encourage and support their child’s participation.

Early Bird Award: To encourage students to arrive early/on time for the school assembly, the first 20 students who arrive will receive an Early Bird Badge and their names recorded for recognition of students arriving consistently on time at the end of year. More details on recognition will be shared soon.

Using the School Facility: Please talk to your child about using the school premises responsibly. Students should not attempt to open/access the shed outside and keep the premises clean. They should place the cups in the trash can after having the drink and cannot take the drink inside the building. While in the classroom, they should not touch any of the materials in the classroom and cannot indulge in any writing on the desk or other surfaces. They are expected to use only the stationery they bring from home.

Attendance: Attendance is a critical component of our grading system as you all should know. The attendance officer will mark attendance during the live classroom session. Arriving after 10.00 am or leaving before 11.15 am will be marked as Tardy. Don’t forget that 100% attendance for the academic year gets a special recognition at the end of the year.
